CHARGE CHARACTERISTIC
XS 800 Battery Charger has a three step fully automatic charge profile, IUoUp:

1. Bulk Charge. Charging where 80% of the energy is returned. The charger delivers an almost constant current until the battery voltage reaches maximum level.
2. Absorption Charge. During absorption charging the voltage is held constant at the set voltage. In this period the current decreases as the battery approaches full charge.
3. Maintenance Pulse Charge. Maintenance phase, where the charger delivers a pulse if the battery voltage drops. The State of Charge is between 95% and 100%. This is the most careful maintenance mode for a battery that is connected for a long period of time (months).

Using the XS 800 will enhance battery life and ensure a high degree of operational safety.

BATTERY TYPES AND PROGRAMMING
With XS 800 you can charge batteries from 1.2 Ah to 32 Ah. You can also use it for maintenance charging for batteries from 1.2 Ah to 100 Ah.

TEMPERATURE PROTECTION
To protect the charger from overheating, the XS 800 is equipped with a power delimiter. At raised ambient temperatures output power is reduced. The power will also be reduced if the charger should be accidentally covered. In this way the charger is protected from damage. The charger continues to operate but at a lower power output. When the ambient temperature drops the power will automatically rise again.

WEIGHT 0.3 kg *) Back Current Drain is what is draining the battery if the charger is connected without the power cord connected. XS 800 extremely low Back Current Drain is equal to 1 Ah/month. A normal figure for other chargers is 1 Ah/day, which could ruin your battery.

**) The ripple describes the quality of the current and voltage. A high current ripple heats the battery and shortens its life. A linear charger has a current ripple of 70 – 400 % which is much larger than the maximum 5 % for a modern sealed battery. High voltage ripple could harm other equipment, which is connected to the battery. XS 800 produces a high quality current with very low ripple. There is no need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle.
