With weights ranging from just under 28 lbs (12.5kg) to just over 44 lbs (20kg), these single cylinder engines are truly portable, yet powerful beyond their size. The durable Tohatsu 2.5hp engine holds the distinction of being the smallest outboard ever used to cross the Atlantic Ocean ! The 4hp and 5hp engines include most of the features of the 18hp through 6hp engines including :

Through the prop exhaust Start-in-gear protection Stainless steel water pump housing Shallow water drive system.

The 5hp also has the added choice of integral or separate fuel tank. A separate tank provides the option of carrying more fuel for applications such as long hours of sailing without easy access to fuel sources, whilst the smaller integral tank is ideal for use with dinghies operating close to the shore and fuelling stations. Convenient 360 degree turning is standard for the 3.5hp (forward-neutral) and 2.5hp (forward only).
